Obituary of J. Campbell Round

Round, John Campbell ~ Passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, February 21st, 2015 at the age of 95. He was a devoted husband to the late Mary Agnes Round (2009) for 63 years; father to Bryan (Judy), grandfather to Dana (Beth) and Derek (Yvonne) and great grandfather to Maisie, Seth and Malina. Campbell served with the British Army in WWII and achieved the rank of Sergeant Major. He met his bride during this time and married her once the war was over. After the war, he obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering in Glasgow, Scotland, and worked as chief engineer at a fiberglass plant in England. When they immigrated to Canada, he started his own business J.C. Round Ltd Consulting Engineers and then eventually worked for Giffels in Toronto as a project manager until he retired. After retirement, he remained active; being involved in several school and church-based youth events, hospital visitation; and senior’s programs in Guelph. He was a steadfast Christian who made friends wherever he went and will be missed greatly by his family. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Arkell Road Bible Chapel, 39 Arkell Road, Guelph on Saturday, February 28th at 11 a.m. Memorial visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gideon’s International in Canada or Arkell Road Bible Chapel-Building Fund would be appreciated.
