Obituary of Beryl Beaumont

Beaumont, Beryl Margaret "Scotty" Passed away peacefully in her afternoon sleep at Hospice Wellington, on Saturday November 16, 2019 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Melvin Beaumont (1986). Loving mother of Neil Beaumont and proud grandmother of Cameron Beaumont. Predeceased by her sister Wendy Fairley. Beryl affectionately known as Scotty was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on January 15, 1928, to parents Margaret and Stuart Fairley. She pursued a career in Nursing as well as achieving her Classical Music Pianoforte Certificate from the Royal Academy of Music in Britain. Her registered nursing career began in Chalmers Hospital in Edinburgh, UK and life took her to Calgary General Hospital, AB, Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, ON, and finally to the Guelph General Hospital. Her motto was Live, Love and Laugh. She was caring, thoughtful and full of laughter; also, very artistic, creative, loved wildlife, nature and adored her two beloved Cairn Terriers named Kim and Ginger. She always lent a helping hand and put others first in all regards. After a diagnosis of cancer earlier this year, she remained the same wonderful woman. The last month of her life was spent in her home with her son Neil by her side. She never lost her passion for music and played the piano on her final day at home for Neil on Friday November 15th. She spent her last few hours of her life at Hospice Wellington Residence. Thank you to Hospice Wellington and Guelph General Hospital for their wonderful care and the LHIN for help, guidance and compassion. Cremation is taking place with a private family service. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
