Obituary of Florence Hazel Fair

Fair, Florence Hazel ~ Passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Friday March 8, 2019 at the age of 94. Predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years, Alan. Mother of Pamela Shantz (Harold), Sheila Hume (Peter), Laurie Boarder (Brian), David (Carolyn) and Jamie (Jackie). Grandma of Steen, Jesse, Cale, Lesley, Cassidy and great Grandma of June, Niko, Emmett and Henry. Born in Penrith, Cumberland, England, Hazel came to Canada after World War II as a war bride. She joined her husband Alan in "the colonies" to live on a farm on the outskirts of Guelph with no indoor plumbing, no central heat and kerosene lanterns for light. After insisting on flush toilets, Hazel raised five children, nurtured many beloved pets, and had a long career at the Homewood in Guelph. She will be remembered as a fashionably dressed woman with a shy smile and a loving laugh. Hazel will always be missed. A private family graveside service for Hazel will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
