MCKEN, Melba (Jean) Wollis Kentner March 8, 1929 – December 21, 2020 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jean on Monday, December 21, 2020 surrounded by the love and expertise of the 4 East Doctors and Nurses of the Guelph General Hospital. Loving mother of John (Donna) Kentner and grandmother to Katie (Kristoffer) Buckley and Ryan (Jenn) Kentner. Wonderful Blue Nana to Maya, Colin and Olivia Buckley and Jackson and Hannah Kentner. Survived by sisters-in law Barbara MacDonald, Shirley Strub, Anne (Ron) Bennett, Judy (Neil) Smith and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husbands John McLeod Kentner (1951), Ralph G. McKen (1990), only sister Alice (Edgar) Kirkpatrick, sister in-law Evelyn (Ken)Marshall and her parents Rose Marie and Wilbert Wollis. She will be missed by all who knew her. Jean was a strong, smart, beautiful, hardworking, no nonsense lady, proud member of Guelph Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a Volunteer at the Guelph General Hospital. Mom was a fabulous cook and baker of beautiful wedding, birthday, and celebration cakes. A private family service will be held (due to Covid-19 restrictions), officiated by one of her best friends, Madeline MacGregor Chaplin for the Guelph Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
