Obituary of Mark Joseph Trento
TRENTO, Mark Joseph
It is with profound sadness that we share our loss. After a long and courageous battle with Scleroderma, Mark passed peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Monday, March 29th, with his sister and niece by his side. Cherished son of John and Shirley Trento, and predeceased by his mother, Virginia Trento. Beloved brother to Patricia Burgess (Kevin), and stepbrother to Dean Morrison (Amanda), Dale Morrison (Charmaine) and their children Chaunda and Cole. Predeceased by stepbrother Tim Morrison. Devoted "Uncle Mark" to Courtney Trento (and son Caphrey), Aaron and Rowan Burgess, Alex Green (and daughter Mackenzie), and Mikey Hamilton. Nephew of Amelia Stradiotto (Dino), Rita Zolnai (Steve), Celia and Gino Visentin, Mario and Marie Pagnan. Predeceased by Savino and Dorothy Trento, Carlo and Nellie Trento, Nini and Judy Trento. Lifelong Friend and "Marco" to Dave and Rhonda Green, Judy and Ian Horne, Paul and Ellen Hamilton, Jerome and Terri O’Hanlon, Doug and Colleen Lucas, Richie, Ed, Rick, Eagles, Brad, Karen, Kris, Deb, and Donna.
Mark was a very social and outgoing person, making friends everywhere he went. He loved great food and music and always tried to enjoy the moment. An avid hockey and baseball fan, he was a regular in the stands cheering on the Guelph Storm and Royals. He developed a passion for horses at an early age and became a proud and devoted horseman. Despite a difficult diagnosis and prognosis, Mark was determined to live life to the fullest, and did so with courage and strength, fighting to stay with us for over 20 years. The Trento family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the ICU and Step-down Nurses at Guelph General Hospital, for their care and compassion throughout his final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In honour of his love for horses, the family is creating "The Mark Trento Saddle Up Program", to provide funding for children to experience therapeutic and recreational opportunities at a local horse farm. Donations can be sent by e-transfer to saddleupguelph@gmail.com or email for more info.
