Obituary of Marie Brennan
Brennan, Marie Louise (neé Mailloux)
Marie passed away on May 8, 2021, in her 101st year. Born October 5, 1920 in Saint Joachim, Ontario. Predeceased by husband William Patrick Brennan. Marie is survived by children John (Lorrie), Paul, Theresa Bowman (Wayne), Michael and Sue Wigg (Steve) along with grandchildren, Michael, Kristina, Karyn, Kelly, Heather and Joanna and many great and great-great grandchildren, sister Lucille Leroux (Bert), sister-in-law Therese Mailloux, as well as nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her parents Lucien Mailloux and Honora Leahy as well as brothers and sisters, Bernard, Louis, Fred, Laura, Pete, Jeannie, Eugene and Pat. Marie witnessed a great deal of history in her 100 years of life, moving from Saint Joachim with her parents and siblings to Walford, Ontario where her parents farmed for many years and leaving home to embark on an independent life in 1940’s Toronto. There to meet and marry husband Bill Brennan and start a family of her own. She was always a strong and independent woman and even more so in the 20 plus years after Bill passed away. In her nineties, she considered and rejected moving into a senior’s residence, preferring to live in her own house on her own terms and when asked when she started to feel old, she replied, "When my son became a senior citizen." Due to Covid restrictions the family will hold a celebration of life at a future date. Arrangements entrusted to GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, (519-824-0031). We invite you to leave your memories online at: www.gilchristchapel.com and they will be forwarded to the family.
