Obituary of Catherine Fisk
Fisk, Catherine Audrey (1927 – 2022)
With deep sadness, the family of Catherine "Cathy" Fisk (nee Webb) announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, January 8th 2022, at Sunnyside LTC in Kitchener, Ontario. Comforted in her final hours by her son David and daughter Deborah, Cathy joins her beloved daughter Elizabeth (d. 2020), mother Irene (d. 2005) and father David (d. 1965) in our Lord’s loving embrace.
Catherine shared her love of life with her three children, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is warmly and fondly remembered by her family; son David (Elizabeth) Fisk, daughter Deborah Sorley, and pre-deceased by her daughter Elizabeth Aitchison (Kelly). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Derek (Carla) Fisk, Graham (Lindsay) Fisk and Gavin (Natasha) Fisk, Kyle Sorley, Kevin Sorley, and Kallan Sorley, Linsay (Kent) O’Neill, Krista (Francis) Duchaine and James Aitchison (Briana McDowell); her great-grandchildren Kyle Jr. Sorley, Emilia and Hadley Fisk, Hunter, Sienna and Naomi Fisk, Adelaide Fisk; Madison, William, Brianna, and Cailin O’Neill and great-great grandchildren Austin and Alex O’Neill.
Born and raised in Niagara Falls, Cathy started her professional career as a nurse graduating from the Mack School of Nursing at the St. Catharines General Hospital and over the years pursued her love of helping people in Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Kitchener. After moving to Manheim, near Kitchener, the ‘call of the girls’ from Nursing College as well as family and friends from the First Baptist Church often encouraged Cathy to visit with them in Niagara Falls.
Cathy lived her final years at St. Luke’s Residence in Cambridge where she welcomed her family and often joined them to cheer on her many grandchildren at the hockey rinks, the baseball diamonds, the ski slopes, boating excursions and school productions all over Ontario. Grandma/Granny was loved and will be missed, though we are sure she will be welcomed by her beloved family, cousins, and friends who have passed before her.
