Obituary of Catherine Anderson

Anderson, Catherine Eleanor It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Eleanor Anderson (Bard) at her home after a year-long battle with cancer, in her 69th year. She will be greatly missed by her husband Gregory Anderson, sons Darryl and Ryan (Emily), daughter Sarah, granddaughter Lillyana, grandsons William, Cameron and Damon, her mother Eleanor Bard, her sisters Linda and Barbara, and brother Stephen. Catherine is predeceased by her father James Bard, and her sister Sandra Lee Boisjoly (Bard). Catherine was a kind, gentle soul, and was selfless when it came to others, especially her family. She was born and raised in Guelph. She was part of the final graduating class from Guelph General Hospital School of Nursing, then served 39 years there as a registered nurse taking care of others. Mom’s passions were piano playing, travelling and babysitting her grandsons. In her later years, she and Greg made some of their best memories while going on cruises with their close friends, and visiting their eldest son in Thailand and Switzerland. Special thanks to the doctors who took care of her, including Dr Danielli, Dr Marcaccio at Juravinski Cancer Centre, Dr Schafir, the staff at Grand River Cancer Centre, and the nurses at the Oncology Centre at Guelph General Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremated remains to be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph, at a later date. Due to Covid limitations, a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Jesse’s Journey 519-645-8855 or the Canadian Cancer Society 1-800-268-8874. Arrangements entrusted to GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, (519-824-0031).
