Obituary of Matthew Borg
BORG, Matthew Nicholas Charles
Passed away suddenly at Groves Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 3, 2022 at the age of 39 years. Beloved husband and life partner of Susanna Gold. Proud father of Emma and Callum. Loving son of Marian Borg and the late Cyril Borg (2010); grandson of Josephine Galea. Dear brother of Alexandra (Robin). Matthew will be fondly remembered by his in-laws Richard and Catherine Gold, by family in Scotland and Malta and by many friends and colleagues. He is sadly missed by his canine companion Gilligan and feline friends Tuna and Lola.
Matthew was a bright light in this world. Nothing mattered more to him than making sure those around him were taken care of. Always warm and generous, he was the ultimate problem solver, encourager and host. He was always there with a helping hand for others and was willing to give sound advice to those who needed it. Matthew had a wonderful sense of humour. With a passion for cooking and a love of entertaining, he always made sure your plate was full and there was no shortage of great conversation. His proudest achievement was being a devoted husband and dad, and he worked incredibly hard to support his family. He was a pillar of strength for all of us.
