McGurn, Mary Catherine (VanNorman) Passed away on Sunday June 26, 2022 at Hospice Tiverton surrounded by family one month short of her 100th birthday. Wife of the late Charles McGurn (2013). Cherished mother of Mary-Jane (Robert) Nelson of Seguin Falls and the late Priscilla Patterson (2008). Treasured Nanie to Sandra Patterson of Kitchener, John Patterson of Guelph, Sean (Tina) Nelson of Petawawa and Courtney (Kurtis) Cooper of Kincardine. Great Nanie to Terry Patterson, Chelsea (Zack Clark), Lily and Levi Cooper, Maverick and Rayna Nelson, and great great to Everleigh. Predeceased by her parents Alexandria and William VanNorman and her siblings Lenore (Joseph) Benham, Donald (Lorraine) VanNorman, and Willa (Jack) Sinclair. Volunteer work was an important part of Mary’s life, recognized by the Canadian Cancer Society for 25 years of service, President and Past President and life member of the Guelph General Hospital Auxiliary, member of the Harmony Circle and life member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Guelph and received the Certificate of Merit from the Canadian Red Cross Society for outstanding voluntary service. Mary will be dearly missed by her niece Mrs. Jack (Babe) Morrell and nephew Brian VanNorman.
