Obituary of Charles MacInnis

MACINNIS, Charles Joseph It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charlie after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimers, blood cancer and congestive heart failure two days after the passing of his younger brother Donnie McInnis. Charlie was the beloved husband of Sheila (Synnott). Loving father of Angela (Doug) Blinkhorn, Robin (Paul) Collins and Kimberly Hastings. Cherished grandfather of Luc, Reid, Rebecca, Emily, Addison, Bailey, Brittany, Melissa, Alexis and great grandfather of Petra, Isabella, Tate and Zyla. He is survived by his two sisters Pearl (d. Joe) Fler, Mary (Gary) Domianczuk, and sisters-in law Cathy (d. Neil) McInnis and Helen (d. Donnie) McInnis. Predeceased by sisters Peggy Bowes, Georgie Sheehan and Doreen McLean. Charlie will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. If you walked in Kortright Park with your dog, I am sure those dogs all knew Charlie. The family would like to thank Charlie’s doctors who have taken care of him especially Dr. Reid Rafla, Groves Memorial Hospital, Guelph General Hospital, County Wellington Home Care, Bayshore and The Wellington County Paramedic program. Without their help, this journey for Charlie would have been more difficult on him and his family. A private family service was held. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oustic. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Guelph Food Bank and Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis. Arrangements entrusted to the Gilchrist Chapel McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (519-824-0031). We invite you to leave your memories and donations online at: www.gilchristchapel.com and they will be forwarded to the family.
