Obituary of Alan Fair

Passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the age of 94. Beloved husband for 70 years of Hazel. Quietly proud father of Pamela Shantz (Harold), Sheila Hume (Peter), Laurie Boarder (Brian), David (Carolyn) and Jamie (Jackie). Cherished Grandpa of Steen, Jesse (Angelique), Cale (Jackie), Lesley, Cassidy (Dave) and great Grandpa of June, Niko and Emmett. Predeceased by six brothers. He will be missed by his sisters Isabel and Kate and many nieces and nephews. Alan was a proud WWII Veteran, serving with the RCAF 427 Lion Squadron. He was known as a farmer, a builder of homes, a gardener, a wine maker, a boat builder, and a craftsman of unique furniture with "a different mistake on every piece." Most of all Alan will be remembered as a true gentleman with a quick smile. He will always be missed. A private family graveside service for Alan was held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
