Obituary of Alison Eichler
Eichler, Alison
Passed away quietly from complications of her leukemia treatment Wednesday afternoon March 22, 2017. Born September 24, 1960 in Carrickfergus, N. Ireland to the late Alice (1994) and Thomas Jamison (1981). She married her husband Doug Eichler May 1, 1982. Beloved mother of Richard Eichler of Toronto, Evan (Lily) of Richmond Hill, and Alicia Eichler (Stephen Moses) of Kingston. Dear sister of Virginia (Joseph) Greer of Guelph and Margaret (Sidney) Ritchie of St. Louis, Missouri. Alison graduated from the Nursing program at Conestoga College, Guelph in 1981. She started nursing at the Homewood Health Centre in the Psychiatric ward, after a move to Sarnia she worked at St Joseph’s Hospital in Sarnia where she started her ICU career. In 1988 following a move to Toronto she worked in the Intensive Care Unit of Rouge Valley Health System – Centenary Site, Toronto until the onset of her illness, the last 2 years as Clinical Practice Leader. She has also taught critical care nursing part time at Seneca & Centennial Colleges in Toronto over the past 15 years.
Friends may call at the Malvern Methodist Church, 2 Morningview Trail, Scarborough on Saturday May 6th, 2017 from 1:00-1:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of Alison’s life at 1:30 p.m.
