Obituary of Duveen Ardale Hartwick

With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Duveen Ardale Hartwick; while surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at the age of 93. She is now reunited with the love of her life Arthur Eldon Hartwick who she cherished for over 74 years. Beloved mother to Pat (Bob), Eldon (Marilyn) and Brad (Lisi). Cherished grandmother to Susanna (Tim), Dianna (Shawn), Laura, Rachel (Nathan), Adam, Layton, Liz (Eric), Wesley and Ben. Doting sister to Pat. Dearly missed by her great grandchildren as well as other family and friends.

Duveen was hardworking and dedicated in everything she did. She enjoyed a successful career as an overseas operator with Bell Telephone (Bell). Her greatest joy was spending time with family; especially camping and skiing. She was a skilled swimmer and loved to travel with her husband – often wearing matching Tilley hats in their adventures. Later in life Duveen took pride in volunteering and was known as the “master party planner”. She was also a proud supporter of IODE Canada. Duveen was a happy and positive person – even when her husbands job meant frequent moves; she always faced it with a smile and positive outlook.

At Duveen’s request cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at Brombal Funeral Home (1 Delhi Street; Guelph, Ontario) on Friday; August 23, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
