Susan, Michael, Ian and families,
Mum, Candy and I were so very sorry to hear of the very sad passing of Uncle Pat. He was such a lovely man, a larger than life character and one can't help thinking of him as part of the beautiful double act with our sadly missed Aunty Audrey. My Mum, Edna, was the youngest of four girls. Aunty Audrey was the next sister up, followed by Aunty Pat and the oldest sibling Beryl. Mum talks fondly of her brother-in-law and the time that she and my Dad, Colin, spent with them in Canada before my sister and I came along...and even now, in her 90s, she often says that she wishes that they had emigrated with them.
I was lucky enough to spend a couple of months with you all when I was 9 years old and Uncle Pat both scared and fascinated me. I remember his booming voice and commanding presence. He was kind and had a lot of patience, making me feel welcome when I felt a little homesick, helping me to swim and terrifying me by putting a tooth in a glass of coke on the mantelpiece, where it promptly dissolved before our eyes...I have rarely drunk coke to this day and not without following it up with a good tooth brushing.
Later on, it was Uncle Pat that introduced me to the delights of Jackie Lawson ecards...I think of him every time I renew my yearly subscription and buy my Advent calendar...and he has the singular distinction of being the only person who could persuade my Mum onto the internet, encouraging her to video call with him and Aunty Audrey. Uncle Pat has impacted my life in subtle but meaningful ways and I know that myself, Candy and Mum will think of him with huge affection and fondness. We send our love, and hugs, to you all, Cherri, Candy and Edna xxx

Patrick Robinson was my Uncle
husband of my mums sister Audrey
In the early 1950s Pat and Audrey took a brave decision to immigrate to Canada where many post war opportunities were on offer
Pat served in the Royal Marines he remained in close contact with the Marines most of his life
It's hard to talk about Pat without thinking about his wife Audrey
Together through hard work and tenacity they built a wonderful life around their family
Pat held strong family values and high standards a man of principle who aways had a shrewd but keen sense of humour
A proud Canadian
Three fine children were raised each a credit to the family
Pat had a number of qualities
Those that spring to mind were a great sense of hospitality love and kindness,
A hard working man with a big character and high moral standards able to impart his wisdom where necessary or when asked for advice imparting his high values and standards to all those around him
I could go on speaking about Pat for a long time yet, but all those who knew or came into contact with Pat or Audrey will know the immense character of both
Pat will leave a large hole in the hearts of many
He is succeeded by his immediate family Ian, Mike and Susan, plus their families who will continue to represent the values of the Robinson family
Our love and thoughts are with you at this sad time xx

G.G.'Pop - all of your great grandchildren miss you. You guessed all of their genders before birth, you loved them all, put up with the high energy, always had treats on hand for them, remembered all their birthdays, and always gave them the biggest hugs and kisses.

Dear Robinson Family,
I am Lorena Pellizzari (Santi), Luigi's sister. On behalf of my own immediate family, I wish also to extend our deepest sympathies on the passing of your beloved father. As my brother Luigi has mentioned, our parents met at St.Joseph's in Guelph. I had the privilege to meet both your parents and spend some time with them while I was visiting our mother. Many interesting conversations were had. It was a pleasure to see how they all looked out for one another, as best they could. We trust that the fond memories you have of your dad will help ease the pain of the difficult days ahead. We wish you peace.

To: Sue, Rich, Mike, Janet, Ian and Barb.
My deepest sympathies to you and extended family on the passing of your dad/father in law - Pat. My connection to Uncle Pat and Aunty Audrey started with my parents, meeting Uncle Frank and Aunty Dot. Our Uncle Frank and Aunty Dot used my mom&dads shed to store their motorbike. Frank had a brother Len. Uncle Len was married to our Aunty Pam. Aunty Pam was good friends with Aunty Audrey and soon Uncle Pat. They all lived just outside of London and after WW II the UK was in very bad shape after 6 years of war. So off they went and in the mid 1950’s, immigrated to Canada, settling into new homes all within about 50 miles of one another. Each couple had children within a couple of years of each other so it became like a home away from home in the U.K. I have fond memories of Christmas parties and Summer BBQ’s at #54 Westmount. Uncle Pat was a great BBQ chef and he kept a tight ship while ensuring us kids had a good time. Through weddings (including my own), parties etc. Uncle Pat was the Master of Fun and a great story teller to boot. Thank you for all the wonderful memories Uncle Pat. So glad you are now reunited with Aunty Audrey. God Bless Valerie Heron (Vancouver BC)

To Mike and Janet,Susan and Richard,Ian and Barb, please accept our sincerest condolences on the passing of your father, known to me as Uncle Pat.I have many fond memories of spending time with the Robinsons at Hoover Park.I remember Uncle Pat encouraging me and my younger brother to jump of the high diving board at the pool.Being about 10 years old at the time the 12 foot high diving board was scary to us.After some encouragement we still were not brave enough to jump.Uncle Pat then reached into his pocket and placed two silver dollars on the edge of the pool.Boys, after you jump off the high board, these are yours! In about five minutes we both jumped off the board multiple times wondering why we were so scared earlier and were so happy with our shiny new silver dollars. Later when I got married, Uncle Pat kindly MC'D our wedding.I remember him walking up to the microphone, tapping it a few times and then pushing it out of the way easily filling the room with his great voice! Our families all had so much in common. Our parents leaving post war England, putting such faith in Canada as a great country to raise their families. They not only succeded but thrived in their new found home creating a wonderful life for themselves and us as their children. R .I.P uncle Pat,and thank you for the many wonderful memories!

Dear Robinson family,
We are sending our deepest sympathies to each of you. Although I only met Pat a handful of times, he left a lasting positive impression on me. He was a devoted family man and was very proud of his close, immediate family.
I need to share my mom and dad's experience with Pat and Audrey. Shortly after Audrey suffered a stroke and was at St Joseph's Health Centre in Guelph, my mom (Bruna) was also sent to St Joes to recover from a complicated hip replacement. Audrey and Bruna were next door neighbours and were assigned to sit at the same 4-person table for all meals. The 4 of them had never met.
My dad (Elio) and Pat connected instantly and traded many funny stories of when they both immigrated to Guelph. My mom and Audrey also hit it off. Audrey would sneak into my mom's room in the evening for a 'chat'. Bruna had nothing but praise for Pat. At every meal, Pat would make sure my mom's chair was ready and her cutlery was set properly. He'd attend to her needs as if she was family. We all cherish those experiences they shared.
With love,
Luigi, Shelagh and the Santi Family.
