Obituary of Peter Fleetwood

Fleetwood, Peter Frederick ~ On January 13, 2013 at 6:30 a.m., at Guelph General Hospital, after a valiant and royal battle to live, Peter left us to meet his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Irene (Reid) for nearly 70 years. They were married at Ryerson United Church, Hamilton, ON February 5, 1943. Peter was the proud father of Kevin (Carrie) and Merle Stage (Bill). Fond grandfather of Anne, Claire (Jon), Lindsay, Allison, Katie (David), Cole and Nicholas. Step-grandfather of Myrtle and step-great-grandfather of Zachary, Jackson and Max. Dear brother of John of England, Ann of Denmark and the late Gama and Michael. Peter retired from Gillies Guy, Hamilton, ON in 1985. He was a Royal Air Force Veteran of WWII, having served from 1937 – 1947 in England, Mount Hope, ON and the Far East and was a proud member of Crestwicke Baptist Church in Guelph, ON. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 10 – 11a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013), Memorial service at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastor Sam McCallum and Lt. Col. Lloyd Heatherington, followed by a lunch at the funeral home. Private family Inurnment at Memory Gardens, Breslau.
