Obituary of Mary Young

Into his hand went mine; Into my heart came ye; And I walked with a light divine, The path that I was afraid to see. Young, Mary Marguerite (nee Harper) ~ It is with much sadness that the family of Mary announces her passing on Sunday, June 2, 2013 in her 96th year. Born in 1917 in Pilkington Township, Wellington County, Mary was the beloved wife of the late George Young (1995), and loving mother of Rodney (Angela). She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, step grandchildren Julia and Tristan, and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings and her parents, Aaron and Charlotte (nee Bryant). We are grateful to the exceptional staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre’s Whispering Oaks wing and to Dr. Kennedy, for the excellent care and kindness shown during Mary’s illness. Thanks too, to the many friends, Rev. Johan Olivier, and family members - especially Kelly, Ruth and Anne- for the many phone calls, cards, flowers and visits that kept Mary’s spirits up, during her lengthy illness. Friends may call to the Gilchrist Chapel – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, for visitation, Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. A reception for family and friends will be held following the service in the Trillium Room. Interment will be at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Knox Presbyterian Church Guelph or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
