Obituary of Marion Smith

Smith, Marion (Holmes) ~ On January 3, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre, Guelph,in her 100th year. Marion was born November 26th, 1914 to Ellen and Charles Holmes. She is the beloved wife of the late Ralph Smith (1983), Mayor of Guelph from 1963 to 1970. She is survived by her only child, Nancy Ellen Leaning, grandsons Tom and Jack Leaning and great granddaughter Tracy Leaning, all of California. Predeceased by her sister, Edna Bolton and brother, Arthur Holmes. Through the years, Marion was an active member of Paisley Memorial Church where she sang in the choir, while her husband was the organist. A private graveside service was held at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, January 7, 2014.
