Obituary of James King

KING, James Stanley ~ Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Fergus, ON, on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Margaret Elizabeth "Beth" King (Nisbet). Proud father of Janice Whelton (Reggie) and John King (Janet) all of Guelph. Cherished grandfather of Kayla McQueen (Mark Chippett), Liam Whelton, Hilary Whelton, Amber King, Caroline Pickering (Luke), Jayne Davey, Christopher Davey and Robert Davey. Dear brother of Shirley Whiteside and brother in- law of Fred Richings both of Toronto. Predeceased by sisters Dorothy Grice (Art); Marjorie Richings, brother in-law Ted Whiteside and daughter in-law Susan King (Rebellati). James proudly served with the Royal Canadian Navy on the HMS Saguenay 179 Destroyer during the second world war. He umpired fast ball and refereed hockey for 28 years and was past Vice President of the Ontario Hockey League (OHA) and member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
