Obituary of Joan Goddard

Peacefully, at Hospice Wellington, on October 18 at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of the late John (2012). Loving mother of Catherine (Paul) Freudenthaler of Toronto, Carolyn (Jamie) Errington of Red Deer, AB and Barbara (Neale) Waters of Kamloops, BC. Proud grandmother of Stephanie & Douglas Siddall, Patrick & David Errington, Mitchell (Jesse), Lesley (Tristan) & Shane Waters and great grandsons Mason and Callum Waters. Predeceased by her only sister Shirley (Lewis) Campbell. Sadly missed by her sister-in-law Margaret Goddard of Guelph and her brother-in-law Brian (Dorothy) Goddard of Barrie. A longtime resident of Guelph, Joan was involved in local politics, various book and bridge clubs and was a past president of the CFUW. After retirement from a career in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph, Joan was able to focus on her garden, clubs, travels with John and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Joan’s life, will be held at the Guelph Golf and Curling Club, 133 Woodlawn Rd., Guelph on Saturday October 25 from 3 – 5 p.m., with informal tributes at 4 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (519-824-0031).
