Obituary of Jessie Slater

Slater, Jessie Grace Passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Harold (2012). Proud and devoted mother of Sherrill Crowder (Graham), Kathryn Bunnage (William) and Gary Slater (Andrea). Cherished grandmother of Alexandra (Chris), Emily (Thomas), Michelle (Charlie), Jordan, Michael, Leah and Matthew. Great grandmother of Liam and Maya. Dear sister of Verna Templer and the late Jean and Georgine. Jessie will also be remembered by her sister and brother-in-law Mary McCrea and Donald Slater (Eileen), many nieces, nephews, her church community where she was very involved and many friends. Jessie completed her nursing training at Belleville General Hospital and was the recipient of the gold medal of excellence. Her nursing career included working at Hamilton General Hospital and the Homewood Health Centre. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (on Sunday, November 12 from 3 – 5 p.m.). Funeral service will be held at Gilchrist Chapel on Monday, November 13 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception, then burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
