Obituary of Irene Szekeres

Szekeres, Irene K. (1937 – 2013) ~ Passed away peacefully, at the Guelph General Hospital on Friday, March 29, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Tibor Szekeres (2000). Loving Mother, "Anu", of Irene (Terry Major) of Guelph and Rick (Bridgette Ford) of Fergus. Proud Grandmother, "Mama", of Alexander, Amanda, Juliana, Rachel, Jessica, Luke and Cheyanne. Dear sister of Violet and Emma of Hungary. Irene will be fondly remembered by her family, friends and neighbours. Irene enjoyed life to its fullest - she loved to spend time reading, toiling in her gardens, cooking, shopping and visiting with friends and family. Born in Nyirmihalydi, Hungary, she immigrated to Canada in 1957, married Tibor, worked hard and raised her family in southern Ontario. Her greatest enjoyments were spending time with her grandchildren and a good book. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, on Tuesday, (from 7-9:00 p.m.) and Wednesday (from 1-2:00 p.m.). Funeral service at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
