Obituary of Irene Swan

SWAN, Hepzybah Irene (nee Wilkins) Passed away peacefully on March 13th 2016, one week shy of her 91st birthday. Now at peace and free to join her loving husband, Leslie Swan in eternal grace. Proud and loving mother to Mike Swan and wife Pearl, Joanell Swan, Geoff Swan and partner Sharon Budnark plus Judy Swan and partner John Sirianni. Beloved grandmother to Chrystal and partner Francisco Ortiz Gomez, Andrew Bowen Swan, Lindsey Swan, Nicole and Megan Roadknight, plus Peter Rocca and wife Laurie. Great grandmother to Juliana Rocca and Francisco Ortiz Bowen. Predeceased by brothers Arthur and Charles plus sisters Connie, Doris and Lily Wilkins. While serving with the British Land Army in 1944, Irene met the one true love of her life, a Canadian soldier, Leslie L Swan. Irene and Les enjoyed 59 years of adventure and wedded bliss together. Mom was truly a special person; a cheerful loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who's strength, wisdom and positive nature enriched us all. Everyone who had ever met Irene will remember her loving kindness. Irene will be greatly missed by Mary Oudesluys and family and by many friends and relatives in Canada, England, Australia, Spain and the USA. A celebration of Irene's life will take place at a later date.
