Obituary of John Holmes

Passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on Friday, May 31 at the age of 73. John was the beloved husband and best friend of Donna. Proud father of Craig and his wife Krista, Nadine and her husband Mark. Cherished Poppa of Olivia. John will be missed by his sister Wendie and her husband Steve, mother-in-law Marjorie, brothers-in-law David and Edward, sisters-in-law Donna, Cathy and Julie, many nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 38 years, charter president of the Erin Optimist Club and former member of the RCAF. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a trust fund "For Olivia from Poppa" (Olivia Paralovos, RBC Royal Bank, Transit #01604-003, Account #5001813). A celebration of John’s life will take place on Saturday, June 8th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Col. John McCrae Legion (57 Watson Pkwy S, Guelph, ON N1L 1E3). Cremation has taken place.
