Obituary of Shirley Gilbert

Gilbert, Shirley Marie ~ Peacefully at The Village of Riverside Glen Thursday, January 21st, in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband John Gilbert (2013). Loving mother of Mark and Lois Gilbert of Toronto. Proud grandmother of Natasha Gilbert of Bonn Germany. Fondly remembered by her sister Bunty Helwig of Guelph, sister-in law Vicky Smith of Ottawa and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Doug Smith, and sisters-in-law Betty Daminato and Lillian Kirkham. Shirley was a life member of the Guelph General Hospital Volunteers; Ontario Medical Secretaries Association; Wellington County Medical Secretaries Heath Care Association; Ontario Medical Group Management Associates, as well as being a member of the Rundle Chapter No. 108 order of the Eastern Star; The Guelph Historical Society and The Guelph Horticultural Society. The family will greet friends at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 210 Silvercreek Pkwy North, Guelph on Thursday, January 28th from 10 to 11 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Shirley’s nephew, Rev. Jeffery Smith. A private family interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital would be appreciated.
