Obituary of Hazel "Ruth" Newland

Newland, Hazel "Ruth" (Chalk) ~ Peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Loving mother of David (Gayle), Kathy Platt (Larry) all of Guelph and Anne Gilbert (Gary) of London. Proud grandmother of Ryan, Jason (Amanda), Shannon (Troy), Laura, Sarah, Christopher (Marcy); great grandmother of Dalton and Dylan. Fondly remembered by her nieces Carol Helmer (Bob), Marilyn Kalin (Leonard), nephew John Banks (Sharyon) brother in-law Francis Newland (Mary) and their families. Predeceased by her sisters Mary and Agnes. Ruth was born on a farm in Malahide Twp and went on to raise her family on a farm in Bayham Township. She proudly taught elementary for 25 years in the Tillsonburg area eventually retiring and relocating to Guelph in the past 2 years. At Ruth’s request, cremation with a private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Aylmer Cemetery.
