Henry Carson

Obituary of Henry Carson

After endless years of fighting numerous strokes & heart attacks, diabetes, kidney disease and the odd biased referee, Henry Carson passed away peacefully in the loving arms of my mom at Hospice Wellington on Monday February 23, 2015, at the age of 73 years. Although time was not kind to him mentally or physically, I will always remember him as the man who broke the chain of physical abuse, as the man who opened his house to other kids that could not live with their parents, as the man who taught me to respect all women properly, as the man that opened my eyes to Scottish history, as the man that blazed a trail down the 401 years before anyone considered commuting, as the man who sacrificed countless weekends over countless years taking me to distant cities for hockey or soccer tournaments, as the man who donated his time to coach other young men and women after I moved on to university… and ultimately as the man I was always proud to call my Dad. You'll be missed aulde yin! Beloved husband and best friend of Betty since 1958. Loved father of Scott Carson (Hayley Shannon) of Toronto. Favourite uncle of Mark, Aimee & Craig Allen and Neil Barker. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday).
