Obituary of Margaret Jane MacKinnon

Margaret Jane MacKinnon (nee Mitchell) ~ Peacefully on May 27, 2014 at Guelph General Hospital at the age of 90. Predeceased by her husband Dr. Archie (Deac) MacKinnon and her granddaughter Genevieve. Survived by her 3 children, Martha of Toronto, Jamie of Ottawa, and Duff and his wife Joanne of Guelph. Also by her 3 grandsons, Matthew MacKinnon and his wife Krysta of Ottawa, Lachlan Jay and Duncan of Guelph, and her stepbrother Bill Mitchell. Margaret was greatly loved and admired by her family and many friends. She read widely, was a keen observer of politics and current affairs and made Guelph a better place in her more than a decade as a city councillor. Funeral service will be at St. Georges Church, 99 Woolwich Street, Guelph, at 2:00 PM Monday June 2, 2014. The family will meet friends at the church starting at 1:00 PM. Interment of ashes will occur at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the River Run Centre Guelph or the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
