Obituary of George Beaton
Beaton, George Alexander
It is with great sadness the family announces his passing at the Guelph General Hospital, on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the age of 78 years. Throughout his journey, George faced his illness with a cheerful attitude and good spirit. Beloved husband of Joy Beaton (Carter). Proud father of Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Guelph and David (Michelle) of Fergus. Cherished grandfather of Connor, Derek, Charlotte and Myles. Dear brother of Margaret Duffield (Murray) of Elora and the late Bob (2008). Fondly remembered by his nephew Tom and many dear friends and family. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Bertha Beaton (Loree) (1954) (2010).
George graduated in 1966 with a Registered Industrial and Cost Accountant degree. Over the years he was employed by Harding Carpet, Leland Electric, Linread Canada and Guelph Wellington Association for Community Living. Following his retirement, he was the proud co-owner of Country Side Lawn & Garden. Since 1952, he was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church serving in many capacities and proudly served on the Woodlawn Cemetery Commission since 2002. He loved fishing, gardening, baseball and most of all his family.
