Obituary of George Stanson

Passed away at The Elliott Community, Guelph on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in his 87th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Helen for 63 years. Proud and devoted father of Catherine (Matthew Newman), Kimberley and Christine (Ron Gibbs). Predeceased by his daughter Candace Beattie (Feb. 20, 2014). Cherished grandfather of Kristy, Bradley and Matthew Beattie, Taylor Newman and Marissa Pian. Left to mourn; his sisters Gloria Farrow and Helen Hillier. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and former students. In his teaching career, he encouraged many young people and hopefully helped them to make their mark on the world. Visitors may call at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 210 Silvercreek Parkway N. Guelph on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 for visiting 10 – 11 a.m., with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. Cremation has taken place.
