Obituary of George Gould

George Charles Gould of Guelph passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre on Thursday, February 19, 2015 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of 56 years to Marcie (nee Herteis). Loving father of Gary (Carolyn), David, Kevin (Theresa), Greg (Lori) and Debbie. Proud grandpa to Kayla, Brodie, Kristopher, Katelyn, Gabriella, Madeline, and Cameron. Survived by his siblings Mary MacKinlay and Charlie Gould. Predeceased by his parents, Eva (nee Disbrowe) and Charles Gould and siblings John Gould, Fred Gould, Patricia Belletti and Nancy McDermid. George enjoyed bowling, curling, slo-pitch, golfing, fishing, playing bridge and traveling. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He took up wood carving, spreading joy to others by donating his characters to friends and various hospitals. He was also a faithful blood donor, donating blood 143 times. Friends may call at the Gilchrist Chapel - McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 12-2 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. with a reception afterwards. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. We invite you to leave your memories and donations online.
