Obituary of Vernon David Powell

Peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on, Monday July 7, 2014. Vern Powell in his 85th year. A retired auto mechanic and a retired residential manager at the University of Guelph, Vern was known as a hard worker. Beloved husband of Marie (Trimble). Dear brother of Valerie McIntosh of New Brunswick, Doreen Brooks of Waterdown, and Wayne (Lorraine) of Hamilton. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his infant sister Elaine, his brothers Francis (Louise), Aubrey (Anne), brother-in-law Everett and his parents Margaret and Joseph Powell. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday July 11, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph. Interment of cremated remains will be at Memory Gardens at a later date. Memorial contributions to the War Amps of Canada or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
