Obituary of John Alexander Grant

GRANT, John 1929 - 2015 ~ Passed away at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the age of 85 years young. Beloved husband of Muriel for 63 years. Proud father of Gary (Gaye) and Judy O’Gorman (John). Cherished Grandfather of Kyle, Kate, Ashley and Alec. John was a gentle man who had a contagious smile. He never had a harsh word for anyone and he had the greatest respect for people. John loved to travel and spent many blissful years at his cottage in Southampton and winter home in Florida. He was born and raised in Guelph and was a long time employee at the University of Guelph. He was an enthusiastic member of the Guelph Curling Club and Guelph Probus Club. John loved to sing and was a former member of the Knox Church choir and Barbershoppers. We will always remember him for being an outstanding, fun and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Cremation has taken place with the inurnment to follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Guelph. Arrangements are entrusted to the Gilchrist Chapel – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (519-824-0031).
