Obituary of Lloyd Anning

At the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the age of 86. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley (Myers); his children Jeff Anning and his wife Lisa of Ingramport, NS and Barbara Hogan and her husband Francis of Lucknow, ON. He was the proud grandfather of Ian (Justine) and Laura (Kory) Anning all of Nova Scotia and Alex and Emilie Hogan of Lucknow and great grandfather of Lucas. Lloyd took immense pleasure from all of them. Also survived by his brother-in-law David Stuart and a number of nieces and nephews and good friends. A special thank you to Robert and Sally for all of your support. Lloyd was predeceased by his brother Ray, sister Joan and sisters-in-law Raymonde and Clare. Lloyd was born and raised in Toronto. Married the love of his life Shirley in 1954 then moved to Guelph in 1962. He worked until retirement at Moore Business Forms in Fergus. Lloyd was an avid curler, golfer, fisherman (and poker player). Summers were spent at the cottage surrounded by family. Lloyd and Shirley enjoyed travelling, going on many road trips and cruises, spent many years wintering in Florida and going to jazz concerts. A Celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held at the Guelph Country Club, 133 Woodlawn Road East on Saturday, April 18th from 1 to 4 p.m. with informal tributes commencing at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. John’s Ambulance, the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
