Obituary of Haydn Griffith-Jones
Griffith-Jones, John Haydn ~ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Haydn Griffith-Jones at Guelph General Hospital on November 19th, 2017 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Patricia (Ing) Griffith-Jones and the late Anne (Nethery) Griffith-Jones (2003). Loving father of Lynne Griffith-Jones (Jonathan Korchuk) of London, ON, Pamela Griffith-Jones (Michael Jones) of Toronto and Hugh Griffith-Jones (Diane Bradshaw) of St. Mary’s. Fondly remembered by his step children David and Lynda Ing and Lisa and Brooks Hipgrave all of Guelph. Proud and devoted grandfather of Anne Piper Griffith-Jones and step grandchildren Madison, Jasmine and Courtney Ing and Amanda and David Hipgrave. Haydn will be sadly missed by his sister Elinor Hart, sister in law Doreen, of the UK and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Wales and England. Predeceased by his brothers Robyn, Llewellyn (late Molly), Wyn (late Mary) and brother in law, Geoff Hart.
Haydn was born in Denbigh, North Wales, February 17, 1933, son of the late Robert and Susan (Evans) Griffith-Jones. He graduated from Harper Adams College, England, in agriculture where he specialized in poultry and came to Canada in 1956. Eventually settled in Guelph in 1962 and will be remembered as the Vice President of Maple Leaf Mills and President of Hybrid Turkeys.
Funeral service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 99 Woolwich Street, Guelph ON, Thursday, November 23rd at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Reception to follow service. Private family burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (519-824-0031).
