Obituary of Gerda Aram

Aram, Gerda Irene (nee Wiese) ~ Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at home, on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 after a brief illness at the age of 85. Daughter of the late Karl and Augusta Wiese. Beloved wife of the late Donald (2015). Loving mother of Debra and Roger Collins of Waterloo, Susan and Bill Caldwell of St. Catharines and Steven and Sue (Renton) Aram of Guelph. Proud Grandmother of Brian (Tara), Jennifer, Matthew, Kevin, Nathan Collins and Dustin (Tanaika), Kyle, Blake and Luke Aram; great grandmother of Donovan Aram and baby Collins in July. Dear sister of Edith Dreisinger (Ross) and the late Fred Wiese. Sister in law of Marjorie Zaniewski (Gene), Ayleene Main (Peter), Donna Aram, Donna Wiese and the late Ken Aram. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Gerda was a wonderful wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Gerda loved cooking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson. Her fresh baked cookies will be missed. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Karl and her neighbours for their care. Also special thanks to the nurses of Bayshore, especially Catrina, for the excellent care and support shown during our mom’s illness. In accordance with Gerda’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation and a private family graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph.
