Obituary of Donald Stewart

Passed away at Guelph General Hospital on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the age of 85 yrs. Beloved husband of 58 years of the late Shirley Ann (2010). Dearly loved by his daughters Wendy and Leslie and by his partner Shirley Hebert. Dad touched the lives of so many with a hug, a story, a helping hand and a great smile. He excelled at being a Shriner clown, a Cub Scout leader, a community volunteer, a Mr. Fix It, a proud Canadian, a lovingly critical Blue Jays and Leafs fan and a one-of-a-kind father. His passions were his "harem" and the cottage. Don will be fondly remembered by his siblings Marg and Bob and their families; and by the Davies, Lyttle, Grant and Fawcett families. Also close to his heart were his "adopted daughter" Brenda, his "rellies" from England, the McSorleys and his lifelong friends who extend from Don Mills, Guelph and Beaverton to Guelph Lake Commons. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 8). Don was a long-standing member of Speed Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 180 G.R.C., the Scottish Rite, the Rameses Shrine and the Guelph District Shrine Club. A Masonic Service will be held just prior to the evening visitation at 6:30 p.m. (the public is welcome).
