Obituary of Dirk van Goozen

van Goozen, Dirk Cutts ~ Peacefully, at The Elliott Community, on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Mary Isabell (Swackhamer) van Goozen ( 2012). Loving father of John of Cambridge, Mary Pope of Kingston and Dale of Guelph. Proud grandfather of Kelly Wiley (Hugh), Kate Kidd, Jennifer Pete (Brian), Brian Pope, Jody Markovic, Krista Wayne (Rob) and great grandfather of 13. Survived by his brother Donald (Shirley) of Sarnia and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Mary (Cutts) van Goozen; his brother Jack and daughter-in-law Wendy. Dirk was a long time member of the St. George’s Church Men’s Club and the Guelph Curling Club. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on Friday, February 20th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service following in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
