Obituary of Donald Aram
Aram, Donald James ~ Peacefully, at home surrounded by his family on Friday, July 31, 2015 after a brief illness, aged 82. Son of the late Vera and Walter Aram. Loving husband of Gerda (Wiese) for 60 years. Loving father of Debra and Roger Collins of Waterloo, Susan and Bill Caldwell of St. Catharines; and Steven and Sue (Renton) Aram of Guelph. Proud grandfather of Brian, Jennifer, Matthew, Kevin, Nathan Collins of Waterloo and Dustin, Kyle, Blake and Luke Aram of Guelph. Left to mourn Don are his sisters: Marjorie (Gene) Zaniewski of Kitchener and Ayleene (Peter) Main of Bellevue, Washington; his extended family: Donna Wiese of Kitchener; Edith and Ross Dreisinger of Oliphant, and sister-in-law Donna Aram of Kitchener Predeceased by his brother Kenneth and brother-in-law Fred Wiese. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.
Don was a wonderful husband and loving father and grandfather. Don loved fishing, spending time at the cottage, enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren. His laugh will be missed. He was a dedicated employee of Ontario Hydro for 37 years.
In accordance with Don’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will announce a gathering to celebrate Don’s life at a later date.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thank you to Dr. Karl for his care and compassion. Also special thanks to the nurses of Bayshore, especially Bonita, for their excellent care and support during Don’s illness.
