Obituary of Duilio Manera

MANERA, Duilio April 7, 1926 – February 5, 2022 Our family is sad to announce the passing of Duilio in his 96th year. Beloved husband for 66 years of Rachele "Kay" (Scroccaro). He will be forever missed by his daughters Linda (Brian Hoffman) and Diane (Armand Chiasson). Proud Nonno of 4 grandsons Zac (Lisa Wilson), Tyler (Amanda), Raymond and Thomas. Survived by brother Ettore of Italy and sister-in-law Vetulia of Milton. Fondly remembered by the Scroccaro family. Predeceased by his sisters Rina (Isidoro Candiotto) and Iole (Guiseppe Gregato), sister-in-law Assunta (Manera) of Italy and brother Elio of Milton. In November 1949, he immigrated to Canada. He met Kay in Guelph and they married in 1955. The family moved to the farm in 1965 where he lived a happy, simple life tending his gardens and raising animals, even while working for the City of Guelph from which he retired after 33 years of service. He was a gentle, quiet, patient, and wise man who loved to share his stories and traditions in making wine, salami and sausages. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital or to the charity of your choice, would be appreciated.
