Obituary of M. Joyce Church

Church, Joyce M. (Bailey) nee Clarke June 25, 1923 - March 2, 2014 Mom, Nana, G.G. passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was predeceased by her husbands, Alfred Bailey and Jack Church and leaves behind her children; Steven Bailey (Anna) of Union, Mark Bailey of Perth, Glenn Bailey (Nancy) of Cobourg, and Jennifer Bailey (Debra) of Guelph. She is also survived by step-children, Jeff Church (Susan) of Toronto, Jon Church (Beth) of St John’s Nfld, and Jane Drew of London. Joyce is survived by her sister Margaret Swanson of Fullerton, California. Along with many nieces and nephews, Joyce leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren. The family is very grateful to the staff at the Ellington Retirement Home in Guelph, not only for the years of care they provided to Joyce, but especially their exceptional support and compassion shown to Joyce and her loved ones during this difficult time. There will be a gathering of family and friends in the lower level of The Ellington, 168 Metcalfe St. Guelph, on Saturday March 8th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment and graveside service will take place in Port Sydney at Stephenson Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Elliott Community would be greatly appreciated.
