Michael Dowell

Obituary of Michael Dowell

Dowell, Michael 1940 - 2017 A good and honest life lived to the fullest has completed the journey home. Proud partner for 31 years to Daniel Husband, who will miss him beyond measure, but will cherish every moment they shared. Predeceased by his parents, Stella (nee Trett) and Fred. Adored by Thomas and Lucas Horne who loved him like an uncle. Loved by Jo-Ann and Mark Horne, Janet Husband, Blossom Husband and fondly remembered by Valerie Behr, he was accepted by Daniel's family with open arms. Life long friend to Alan Nevison in England and dear friend to Cliff Carey in California, both who loved him and retained lasting contact throughout the years. Michael passed peacefully and pain free at Hospice Wellington, who treated him with dignity and tender care. He is now reunited with his pets Shnooker, Rufus and his absolutely adored Simon, nothing would comfort him more. To those who knew or befriended him, be assured his wit and humour were intact to the very end. Peace and happiness to his countless friends, it is what Michael would sincerely want. He loved the Peter Pan ride at Disney World, think of him should you ever ride it. There are no planned services or memorials, as were his wishes. Listen to some Tina Turner and raise a toast in his honour. Donations in his memory can be made to Hospice Wellington (they are angels, one and all). Arrangements entrusted to the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, (519-824-0031).
