Obituary of Thérèse Alarie
Alarie, Thérèse (Theresa)
May 2, 1949 - September 2, 2026
It is with profound sadness that the Alarie family announces the passing of Thérèse on
Wednesday, September 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Thérèse was a proud and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a quiet
and resilient woman with extraordinary strength and perseverance. She faced life's challenges
with dignity and rarely complained, always finding the strength to carry on.
Born and raised in Matachewan, Thérèse eventually made her home in Guelph, where she
devoted her life to her family. She worked for many years as a seamstress and sewing production
associate, bringing the same patience, care and attention to her work that she brought to
everything in her life.
Thérèse was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jean (John) Alarie, who passed away on June
6, 2026, after more than 58 years of marriage. Their life together was one of love, family and
commitment. The family takes comfort in knowing that they are together again.
Her greatest pride was her family. She was a loving mother to Louise (John), Paul (Michelle) and
Mike (Cindy); a proud grandmother to Taylor (Kailey), Karleigh (Trevor), Erin, Maya and
Daison; and a cherished great-grandmother to Alexandra, Charlotte, Olivia and Nolan. Her
family was her greatest accomplishment, and the love she gave them will continue through
generations.
Thérèse was predeceased by her parents Marcel and Irene Cadieux and her siblings Henry, Vic,
Yolande and Roger. She is survived by Fred, Aline, and Faby who all share in our sadness.
She was also beloved by the people in her apartment building, where she formed friendships and
became a caring and familiar presence in the lives of her neighbours. Her quiet nature, kindness
and strength touched many people, and she will be deeply missed by the community she became
part of. She will be forever loved, deeply missed and never forgotten.
A Memorial Visitation will be held for Thérèse on Sunday, September 13 th , 2026, at 1:00 pm to
