Obituary of Helen Agnes Webster Erison

It is with saddened hearts that we announce that Helen (Nan) Agnes Webster Erison,68, of Cambridge,
Ontario passed away unexpectedly on August 24, 2026.

Born July 13, 1958 in Kingston Ontario to James (Hamish) and Rosa Rattray (nee Webster) of Scotland
and loving wife to Mike, married in Guelph in 1993. Nan was adventurous and free spirited, older sister
to 4 boys. It was a rambunctious childhood on Cedar Street with 5 kids in 7 years and, as the eldest,
Nan was in charge of the gaggle of brothers that followed. From her early days she had an interest in
childhood education, navigated the technological wave with Mum at the Guelph Answering Service to
the rise of the internet, Nan had a knack for new chapters. Bucket list travels allowed Nan to explore
the world before settling down for an adult lifestyle. The employment path led to a 30-year career at the
Ontario Veterinary College, but the allure of the outdoors and the sound of the water kept bringing Nan
back to her home away from home at Rice Lake. Nan and Mike together were keen fishers and enjoyed
the camaraderie of their lakeside retreat. Always a big sister, the guidance and support of Nan will
never be replaced.

Nan is survived by her constant companion and beloved husband of 33 years Mike, and her four
brothers; Euan (Sue – Staci, Matt, Jaxon)), Neil (Renata - Roman), Graham (Maya – Kai, Sheena) and
Colin (Pamela – Kalan, Sequoia, Coral). Nan will be sincerely missed by extended family in Canada,
the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa. Nan is preceded in passing by her parents Hamish and
Rosa. By request there will be no public service.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the RRLF, Rosa Rattray Literacy Fund, Guelph
Public Library or the Canadian Cancer Society.

love, always
