Obituary of Bradley Alexander Leonard Pamenter

Our beloved BRADLEY ALEXANDER LEONARD PAMENTER (September 16, 1969 – August 14, 2026) went to rest after facing cancer with incredible strength and grace, surrounded by his devoted family. He will forever remain in the hearts of his wife Anita, and his children, Matthew, Laura, and Anna. Brad will be eternally cherished by his parents Fred and Gail, and his siblings Nancy (David), Craig (Andrea), and Janice (Robert). He will also be lovingly remembered by the rest of his supportive family, including his parents-in-law Robert and Marjorie, brother-in-law Brian (Wendy), sister-in-law Jane (Alastair), and all his wonderful nieces and nephews. Furthermore, Brad will be greatly missed by extended friends and families who were fortunate to know him.

Brad was born in Toronto and then spent his childhood in London, before he moved to Mississauga for his latter primary and high-school years. Later, he returned to London while he attended Western University. Following his first degree, he moved to Ireland where he met the love of his life, Anita, while he attended medical school at University College Dublin. Together they moved to Glasgow, where Brad began his career in medicine and started to build his family with Anita. Eventually they returned to Canada and settled in Mississauga, where they completed their family and revelled in the life they shared together.

Brad had a deep appreciation for his home city of Toronto, especially for its ever-changing skyline, which he watched grow throughout his life. He also had a genuine passion for gourmet food and loved to discover new, trendy eateries so he could share them with the people he loved. Many of the unique dishes he experienced in these places inspired his own Michelin-worthy cooking, which his family and friends enjoyed regularly. Brad and Anita shared a particular appreciation for wine as well, and some of their happiest memories were spent exploring the Niagara wine region together, savoring the scenery, the food, and, of course, a good bottle of wine.

At home, Brad found great pleasure in his backyard. He took pride in caring for his garden with his roses holding a special place among his many interests. Other favored hobbies and pastimes included exciting family movie nights, listening to 80s rock on his B&O, cheering for his dear Toronto Maple Leafs, and more recently, his keen interest in model trains. His love of detail and the pleasure of building something with his own hands was further reflected in Brad’s eye for creativity and DIY home-improvement, in which he frequently wowed his family and friends with his incredible creations and skill. Above all, Brad found joy in making memories with the people he loved.

Family was at the heart of much of what Brad did. He loved planning little outings, surprises, and adventures for his loved ones and he often put as much thought into the anticipation as the event itself. He particularly enjoyed elaborate Christmas gift tricks and surprises, as he was always looking to add a little magic to the lives of his three children.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Vanner and the team at Princess Margaret Hospital for their care and support, as well as Dr. Baugniet and the Palliative team at Trillium. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, or The Canadian Cholangiocarcinoma Collaborative.

A private family celebration of life will be held to honour Brad.
