It is with a heavy heart that the Alarie Family announces the sudden passing of Jean (John) on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Guelph General Hospital, surrounded by his family. Jean was a loving and caring husband of Thérèse for over 58 years. A proud and loving father to Louise (John), Paul (Michelle) and Mike (Cindy). Jean was a very proud grandfather to Taylor (Kailey), Karleigh (Trevor), Erin, Maya and Daison and great grandfather to Alexandra, Charlotte, Olivia and Nolan.

Jean was the 2nd born of 17 siblings and will be missed by his very loving and large family. Jean was predeceased by his parents Adolf and Marie Allarie. Jean worked at Owens Corning Canada in Guelph for 39 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the great outdoors, especially the Matachewan First Nations. Jean was proud of his 51 years of sobriety and was lucky to have the support of his family and friends during his journey.

A Memorial Visitation will be held for Jean on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 1:00 ~ 2:00 p.m. at the Brombal Funeral Home Chapel, 1 Delhi Street, Guelph ON N1E 4J3 (519) 824-0031 with a Memorial Service commencing at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow in the lower lounge. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Association https://diabetes.ca/ or to Cancer Research at https://cancer.ca would be appreciated by the family.
