My sincere condolences to the Hoffbauer family for the loss of your Angel.
I will never forget her kindness and love to my family when we first came to Canada. I thank God for the example and legacy she has left behind in her kids and grandkids.
Grant her Eternal rest dear Lord, and let your perpetual light shine on her. May the Lord Almighty grant her a merciful judgement. She’s an angel. May she rest in perfect peace. Amen.
Funmi Ogunbi.

I remember my aunt Angie as a thoughtful and loving mom. She always made me feel welcome when I visited Guelph as a kid. Her cheesecakes inspired me to become a cheesecake maker myself <3 I will never forget the beautiful pineapple cheesecake she made for my dad for his 45th birthday that uncle Mike carefully hand delivered across the country to Edmonton then another 200 + km north in the depths of winter. I know Angie will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Sending love to my cousins and uncle through this difficult time.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to dear Micheal, Angela’s beloved husband, and the lovely family he and Angela created. It is a dynasty! I have followed Angela’s journey with cancer feeling many emotions, sadness, anger with God, but outshining all else,I was overwhelmed and amazed at Angela’s positive outlook and her unwavering faith in our Lord. I have known Angela for 52 yrs.when she, her sister,Monika and I were at students at Notre Dame High School. I have known her family that long as well and my heart breaks for her dear parents, John and Carola Wenzel, at the loss of their beautiful daughter. The same is true for Angela’s sister, Monika, who is one of my oldest and dearest friends. Angela’s brother, Micheal and his wife Diane, who have been true champions doing whatever was needed whenever to assist Angela and the Family. .Angela’s name, aptly chosen by her parents so many years ago, predicted Angela would one day be one God’s Angels as I am sure she is right now. Remembering you all in my prayers.

I'm heartbroken at the passing of my dear, little sister, Angela Hoffbauer (nee Wenzel) on Friday evening. She fought a long, strong battle against cancer and beat it for a number of years! We're blessed to have had her for the 64 years we did. My dear 92-year-old parents, John and Karola, are devastated at losing their youngest child. My brother Michael, and Diane, Angie's sister-in-law, and all her numerous nieces and nephews, with whom she always connected and knew her as "Tante Gela", are going to miss her forever. I know that her many friends and colleagues are already missing her sparkling smile! Angela had an exceptionally strong Catholic faith, from her days at Notre Dame High School and CLC; to her involvement at St. Patrick's German Parish, where she met and married the love of her life, Michael; to her active participation in the Guelph community; to Pro-Life silent vigils; to Adoration in every open church any day of the week even while she was undergoing cancer treatments; to pilgrimages made when she traveled across Canada; and especially her total dedication and commitment to praising, trusting and thanking God in her daily life and at the Sacred Heart Parish in Guelph! She was the brightest shining star for all of us, but especially for her beloved husband of 40 years, her 6 wonderful children, whom she home-schooled and dedicated her life to raising well, and their spouses, and her 9 beautiful grandchildren who called her "Omi"!! I know that she's in Heaven, singing, dancing, probably baking the best 10 cheesecakes ever, gardening, ironing, yes ironing, sewing, crafting and watching over all of us! Gela, thank you for supporting and encouraging me, for showing me that sometimes change is good, for believing in me, praying for me and for always loving me! I will miss you terribly, but you will always be in my heart! I love you!

For the Hoffbauer & Wenzel families,
I had the pleasure of meeting Angela at Ryerson and we had such fun together & continued over the years as we were raising our children, hiking trails, sharing stories and lots of laughter! She was compassionate, fun loving and a sincere friend who I will treasure. She was my star. There is now another star brightening the sky. My sincere condolences to her loving husband Michael and their family. XO Jody Kinsey
