Obituary of Kathie Reid

Kathleen Anne Reid

September 26, 1959 ~ April 21, 2026

Kathleen “Kathie” Reid of Guelph ON, at the age of 66, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026 at Hospice Wellington, embraced by the love of her family and friends who surrounded her.

Beloved wife of 47 years to her late husband Garland “Garney” Reid. Loving mother to her late daughter Krista Reid. She will forever be missed by her son Trevor Reid (Dawn) and her daughter Melissa “Missy” Reid. She will be fondly remembered by her granddaughter Everyly who was the light of Kathie’s life. Her lil’ nugget brought her so much joy! There’s nothing more that she enjoyed than doing crafts, going for manicures, or snuggling up to watch movies and munch on their favourite snacks.

Kathie was predeceased by her parents Maxwell and Irene Robertson and brother Allan Robertson (Marlene). Survived by her brother David Robertson (Pauline) of Elora, ON, and her sister Maxine Catteau (Larry) of  Lion’s Head, ON, who will all miss her dearly.

Kathie was happiest spending time with her family; gathering loved ones into her home and hanging out at their favourite spots in Sauble beach. She was an aunt and sister-in-law to many; a second mom to some and a dear friend. She will be missed by many family members, her nieces and nephews, and her closest friends.

~ until we meet again ~

The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the care team and volunteers at Hospice Wellington for your warmth and compassion. Your support meant everything to our mom and her loved ones.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for Kathie will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated. www.hospicewellington.org

A Mother's Life

On This April 21, 2026

A mother’s love was taken

From a family who loved her dearly,

Never let it be mistaken.

As our family chain is broken,

It’s become plain to see.

What we took for granted,

Can no longer be.

God gives us life and loves us,

Until called home to rest.

All that happens in between,

Is simply just a test.

True memories are special,

And kept inside our hearts.

They will never leave us,

They cannot fall apart.

May the winds of love blow softly now,

And whisper to your ear.

That we are left in sorrow,

And miss you Mother dear

-Kathleen "Kathie" Reid
