Obituary of Rick Franchetto

FRANCHETTO, Richard “Rick” passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the age of 51. Rick will be deeply and forever missed by his loving wife, Connie Franchetto (nee Maltese). Proud and devoted father of Adrian and Alexandria, who were the centre of his world. Cherished son of Severino and Sharon Franchetto (nee Forrest). Dear brother to Sev (Robin) and Kathy (Mike). He will also be fondly remembered by his aunt Didrick (Kathy) , his cousins Bobby (Amy) and Sandy (Dan), his beloved niece Emma, and his nephews Dylan and Ethan, as well as many aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends whose lives he touched.

Rick had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. He was an avid fisherman who truly loved being out on the water. Fishing was one of the greatest passions and brought him peace and happiness. Whether around a campfire or gathered with friends and family, Rick was a storyteller, always able to bring laughter, connection and life to every moment. Rick also enjoyed watching thunderstorm while drinking his wine, gardening and camping with his family.

Rick held a special place in his heart for the Elliott Community, where he built meaningful connections and found a true sense of belonging. Rick will be remembered for his kind heart, his life for his family and the warmth he brought to those around him.

Rick’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Brombal Funeral Home, 1 Delhi Street, Guelph, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 pm.

In memory of Rick, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Elliott Community would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.
