Paul Campagnolo

Obituary of Paul Joseph Campagnolo

CAMPAGNOLO, Paul Joseph (Camp)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Paul Campagnolo on Friday, January 16th at Guelph General Hospital with his family by his side; after a brave but short battle with cancer at the young age of 63.

Loved and devoted partner of Jane Davies, proud father of Jacob Campagnolo. Loving son of Margaret Campagnolo (nee Kenny) and of the late Plinio Campagnolo. Loving brother to Michael (Jennifer), Mark (Doris) and uncle to Danielle, Alisa, Eric, Kaitlyn, and Alex. Beloved nephew of Barbara and Joan. He will be very missed by his buddy, Boh the dog.

Paul will also be missed by his many, many friends especially those he spent hours with on the golf course at Vic East, where he was a longtime member. He was so proud of getting a Hole in One and his plaque held a prized position on a wall in his home. Paul was known to many as ‘Camp’, and loved music, sports, playing Euchre or darts, and having a
good laugh. When you got to know him, Paul’s soft spoken nature would give way to an underlying charm and hilarious sense of humor.

He was dedicated in everything he did, including being a plumber for almost 30 years at the University of Guelph. Upon his retirement, he applied that same focus and dedication to creating new memories and being there for those closest to him. Paul was always there when you needed him.

While his time felt too short and he will be incredibly missed, Paul’s life was so full and he lived it the way he wanted. As Paul would say, “It’s a thing of beauty.”

Paul’s family would like to thank the healthcare team on 4 East, especially Dr. Cassandra Graham and nurse Julie B. for the excellent care he received while at Guelph General Hospital.

At this time, his family will be having a private ceremony. A celebration of Paul’s life will be announced in the near future for all his friends and family to gather together. For now, we know Paul would appreciate you raising a glass in his honor.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
